“As I approached 30, I realized that I needed to do something sustainable for my health. Before, I felt that I was constantly working super hard to stay in shape, and I would eventually end up where I started—all that hard work for nothing! I have worked out at various gyms—CrossFit’s, Equinox, various cycling studios. I’ve done the Paleo diet and other diet fads. And though these all worked for me temporarily, they were not sustainable for me. I found myself skipping gym days and having cheat meals frequently. At the age of 30, I realized that I didn’t have anymore time for fad diets and trendy workouts. I needed to do something that my husband and I could do together, where we felt comfortable, safe, but still challenged. With hectic changes in our lives, one thing still remains the same—our workouts and health habits with Coach Mike. I’ve never felt so motivated to push myself to create a healthy lifestyle that would stick. Each day, I wake up at 4 am to begin my workdays with the wonderful people at BMF. Everyone who works out at BMF is extremely supportive and encouraging. Being an athlete at BMF has improved my mental health, especially in these uncertain times. As a teacher during times of COVID-19, it has never been more important for me to take care of my mental health. I use my skills at BMF and the knowledge of Coach Mike to help train my mind to stay strong. The plus side is that I’ve been in the best shape of my life. At 30, I’ve felt the most strong mentally and physically.
