What is Max Effort (ME)?

At BMF Training we utilize the Max Effort method to build strong resilient Athletes. Max Effort method focuses on developing absolute strength. These are our heavy training days where we are working up to a maximum lift in our Press, Squat, or deadlift variation.

Our goal of the Max Effort session is to produce the most amount of force possible by lifting the greatest load possible (with proper form). The ME method brings forth the greatest gains in maximal strength with the most amount of motor units activated (Zatsiorsky 2006). We rotate these ME Exercises every 2 weeks to avoid injury and to ingrain proper motor patterns. We split up our training by having an ME upper body session and ME lower body session.
